George Benish is responsible for the financial security and safety of the Church. His skill as a trained accountant has helped St. Mary's continue in its commitment to wise stewardship and financial transparency.
Bookkeeper, Eucharistic Minister
Mary Allen assists the Church Treasurer in keeping our accounts up to date and our budget in line. She has volunteered as our bookkeeper for many years and is an important part of the financial well-being of the Church. Mary also serves as a Eucharistic Minister, offering the Holy Chalice on Sunday mornings.
Dcn. Sandra plays an integral part at St. Mary's Church including leading the Food and Care Coalition Ministry, the Garden of Warmth, the Community Garden, as well as working with the Sunday Ministries.
Bishop's Committee Member
Serena is our Community Music Outreach Program Coordinator and acts as a liaison between Utah County musicians and the church. Anyone hoping to host a student recital or sing in one of our non-Sunday services may coordinate with Serena to do so. Serena is a member of the Bishop's Committee, the governing board at St. Mary's Church.
Facility Manager & Custodian
Heidi is our Facility Manager and Custodian. She is responsible for day to day care of the facility, small group scheduling, and providing a sanctuary to small groups at St. Mary's. Her connections with the recovery groups at St. Mary's runs deep and we are lucky to have her working with us in our efforts to help those in need.
As Priest-in-Charge, Fr. Peter is responsible for both the Temporal and Spiritual affairs of St. Mary's Church. He has served in his current position since he was called by Bishop Hayashi in 2012.
Small Group Leader
Robert Redd is St. Mary's Sunday Morning Small Group leader for our Adult Discussion Group. The group meets at
9:15 AM in the library on Sunday mornings.
Jim Meador has worked for many years keeping the grounds of St. Mary's Church beautiful and well kept. He also serves as an Usher on Sunday morning, greeting us all.
Communications Coordinator, Member of the Bishop's Committee, Altar Guild member, Eucharistic Minister
Melody keeps members up to date with news in the newsletter and on facebook. She serves on the Bishop's Committee, as an Altar Guild member, and as Eucharistic Minister, offering the Holy Chalice at Eucharist.
Bishop's Committee Member,
As Junior Warden, Steve is responsible for the grounds and building maintenance. He is also responsible for our clean-up days and for the St. Francis Garden.
Lila is one of the longest serving members of St. Mary's Church. For years she has coordinated the Fellowship hour at St. Mary's Church. This time after church each Sunday is part of the very fiber of our community and provides a time for us to come together and share in some good conversation and yummy desserts.
Dallin is the organist at St. Mary's. He is in charge of the maintenance of the instruments and also directs the parish choir. Dallin is currently an organ performance student at Brigham Young University
Altar Guild Coordinator, Usher
Roy takes care of the worship preparation and clean-up before and after most of our worship services. His dedication to this sacred practice is meaningful and essential. As the Coordinator of the Altar Guild he takes care of the sacred instruments of our worship. We're very grateful to Roy for arriving early and staying late.
Food & Care Coalition Coordinator, Bishop's Committee Member, & Senior Warden
Steve Nordstrom coordinates volunteers and donations to help the homeless in Utah County get some much needed food and rest. He is also the driving force behind the Community Garden. Steven is Fr. Peter's right hand man, as he serves as the Senior Warden.
Stan loves greeting members of the Parish and visitors as they come through our bright red doors each Sunday. He also helps prepare the Church on Sunday mornings by setting up the hymns and chapel for worship.
Tim is the youngest priest in the Dioceses of Utah. He graduated with a Master of Divinity in 2016 from the Church Divinity School of the Pacific in Berkeley, California. He also holds an MBA and has studied journalism and business. He is passionate about pastoral ministry, having worked in hospital and prison chaplaincy.
Arlene is the Head of our communion bread ministry. She and other volunteers bake new loaves of bread for our weekly communion services. Her recipe isn't secret, ask her and she'll be more than happy to let you in on the fun of "Church Baking".
