ST MARY’S PROVO

Enouncements July 21-27, 2008

If you have any concerns, your rector is available to hear you.  Call Kathleen's cell 473-9817 to talk for to make an appointment.  Her email is rector@stmarysprovo.org.

TIME TO PREPARE.  Reverend Kathleen has set aside 15 minutes before each Sunday service as a time for her to be in her office undisturbed so she can center her thoughts and be ready to lead us in worship.

FOOD AND CARE MINISTRY ON PIONEER DAY.  It has been a regular event for St. Mary’s to provide the noon meal at the Food and Care Coalition on Pioneer Day.  We will need your help.  Check with Fr. Dick or Chris Peper to get the details.  Pioneer Day is Thursday this week (the 24th).  We will be busy at Food and Care from about 11:30am to 1:30pm.

PRAYER REQUESTS:  Do you have a prayer request?  Please contact the parish office (373-3090) or Connie Merhley, the Prayer Circle leader (491-1012/csmerhley@gmail.com.  If you are interested in joining the Prayer Circle, please contact Connie.

Birthdays ?

(Note:  We do not have all of the birthdays and we would like very much to be able to list everyone’s birthday as they come up.  So please stop by, call or email your birthday month and day, year is optional.)

Every Week:

Sundays: Our Café fellowship is a continuation of our worship experience on Sunday.  St. Mary's Café after the worship service is a great time to get to know one another well.   Good food too, thanks to Connie Merhley and the wonderful ladies and men that help us share our love for one another. Wednesdays at noon.

Thursdays at noon:  Gather around the altar for a spiritually intimate celebration of the Holy Eucharist.  Then go on to lunch in town at a low cost but memorable eatery.

Fridays:  Women's Spirituality Development Group:  Every Friday at 6:30pm.

The Women's Spiritual Development Group, led by Connie Merhley, meets at her

home in Springville.  They have a pot luck dinner first and then a spiritual

discussion centered on the topics in their current book.  The next book will

be "Having a Mary Spirit" by Joanna Weaver.  Please contact Connie at

491-1012 for questions about the group, and tell her this week if you would

like for her to order a book for you.  The cost is roughly $12.00, but there

are "scholarships" available for those who may not be able to afford that.

PARISH NEWS:

CONFIRMATON CLASSES:  Our Bishop Carolyn will be here for her annual visit on October 12.  Confirmation classes will be held on Wednesday, September 3rd and Mondays September 8, 15, 22, and 29, and Oct. 6.  Sign up with Reverend Kathleen to take the instruction that leads to confirmation.  Confirmation is the adult affirmation of your Baptismal Vows.

MINISTRIES:  Who are the ministers of the church?  The ministers of the Church are LAY PERSONS, bishops, priests and deacons.  Emphasis is ours, see our Prayer Book on Page 855.

One good ministry is to be the parish representative for Episcopal Relief and Development.  The representative will help spread the word about how the Episcopal Church is helping to heal a hurting world.  Call Reverend Kathleen or call Brin at 801-971-8177 or Eli at 801-580-2565.

EVANGELISM:  Proclaiming the Good News of God’s Love is easy, start with a smile and say hello.

If you have any family news or celebrations that you want to share with the Parish, please call Michelle in the office.  Space permitting we will be happy to print them in the Sunday announcement paper and in these enouncements.  You may email Michelle at parishoffice@stmarysprovo.org
